KATHY FRY
VOCALIST/PIANIST/SONGWRITER

Born in Ohio and influenced by her musical parents, Kathy Fry's astounding talents can only be compared to the very best of traditional female vocalists such as Sarah Vaughn, Rosemary Clooney and Carmen McCrae. Skillfully holding notes, changing keys and ending a song with a pure high or low note, Fry's ability to scat, riff and jump from low to high ranges makes her one of the hottest, most talented jazz singers to hit the Milwaukee/Chicago jazz scenes in years. Fry often luxuriates in slowly drawing out phrases and words, imparting the feelings and emotions of a song sweetly, seductively and completely. As stated by syndicated columnist Mike Drew, "I have heard female jazz vocalists all of my life, and Kathy is one of the best." Kathy currently performs in the Lobby Bar at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Her new CD, You, The Night And The Music, can be heard on premier jazz radio stations such as WYMS, 88.9 FM, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

· Fry attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio as a pre-med student. She reconsidered her career choice by following her passion to become a full-time musician. During the past twenty-five years, Fry has performed as a studio musician/vocalist/pianist/guitarist. She has also composed music for radio and television commercials.

· In 2001 Fry's CD, You, The Night And The Music" received the highest CD rating by the Isthmus Jazz Festival music review panel. Her trio was selected to perform at the very prestigious 2001 Isthmus Jazz Festival in Madison, Wisconsin.

· Fry's musical group, Parallelle, won the 1999 Wisconsin Area Music Industry's CD contest and performed at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

· Fry has performed nationally and internationally in world class venues such as Harry's New York Bar at the Montreux Palace, Montreux, Switzerland; The Pink Elephant Lounge Hotel Post, Zermatt, Switzerland; The Grand Hotel Esplanade, Berlin, Germany; The Sheraton Hotel, Stockholm, Sweden and The Grand Geneva Resort and Spa, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

· Fry's repertoire is quite versatile and includes jazz, pop, musicals and country and western.
